Happy New Year : 2026 Ins & Outs

Happy, happy new year! It’s already 2026. Can you believe it?

I feel so fortunate to see another year, and I really hope to make it count. Like many people, I too love a good vision board, new goals and resolutions for the year. They make me excited for the year and at least offer some direction for me. I know this could be a cause of stress for many people, but once you actually make one that works for you, you will love it. In fact, I was recently thinking of planning like short-term vision boards, maybe quarterly. See? This is a way of making the year my own.

On that note, here are my 2026 ins and outs. In simple terms, the ins are things I will start or keep doing, and outs are the things I won’t be doing or letting go.

Ins

  1. Travel – my goal is to do three trips within Kenya and two internationally.
  2. Pictures/documenting – I intend to take more pictures this year, and bring back monthly dumps on my social media, and maybe even vlogs on YouTube.
  3. Reading – currently reading Beloved by Toni Morrison. My goal is to read a book a month.
  4. Discipline – is there anything better than discipline? The main areas I want to cultivate this in are with my finances and eating habits

Outs

  1. Inconsistent sleep schedules – at least during the weekdays. I want a predictable sleeping schedule. e.g., asleep by 10pm and awake at 6:30am
  2. Overthinking (worst-case scenarios) – because I love overthinking, I will be occupying my mind with best scenarios, because thinking the worst hasn’t helped me in any way.
  3. Clutter. I just want to get rid of stuff, you know? Those clothes, perfume boxes………….just everything unnecessary.
