BLOGMAS Day 9 of 12 : There is always something you can do

We are about to get to the double digits of BLOGMAS days!! How fast? Thank you for still keeping up thus far.

Onto today’s post….

Have you ever been asked by someone what your talent is and thought you didn’t have one? Or perhaps you hadn’t figured it out.

I may still not know how to answer that question, but I truly believe there is at least one thing you can do which you are good at, that brings you joy, contentment and can even bring you money.

I used to struggle a lot with trying to figure out what my purpose is. What am I in this world for? And while I may not have this one thing that I know for sure, there are a couple of things I have found to do with my time on here.

So, how do you figure out these things?

You can check and see what people around you keep telling you. What people choose to praise or compliment you about, whether they have known you for a long time, whether you just recently met, whether from work or just other personal relationships; may be a good starting point. People can comment on your personality or nature. They could say you’re so fun, bold, bubbly, calm, wise, etc. These could already be great pointers for things you can do that align with your nature or personality. Maybe even influence the career choice you take. People can also comment on things you do. For example, you sing so well, your writing, how you speak, how you dress etc. These too could be useful in helping decide what you could take up as hobby or fuel your curiosity into discovering certain topics more deeply.

Revisiting old fun habits. You’re never too grown to enjoy things. If you enjoyed sketching or drawing but now that you’re grown you don’t see it as a career opportunity, how about see it as an opportunity for fun. Sketch some things, have a small gathering with friends to showcase your work, and boom! That’s already an exhibition. That fashion business? You don’t know anything about penetrating into the market or how you’d sell. Start small. Make one outfit, take pictures and post online. Tell people how you designed it. Next time you may do 2 pieces, then 5, then 10, then 1000.

I’m also speaking to myself as I write this. A job isn’t the only thing to be proud of. You can be so proud of a lot of other things. Productivity can also look like attending a fashion show and admiring the designs.

And if you feel nothing I’ve said so far could resonate with you.

Try many new different things.

So the next time you think to yourself, “ I don’t have anything to do” think again!
