Not everything on your vision board came to fruition this year. Guess what? There are still things you should be proud of. If you did any of the following, I think you should be proud of yourself.
If
- You actually took leave days and made sure that work isn’t the only place you have been to this year
- You started a new job
- You made it to the shortlist, the final interview stage, even if you didn’t get the job
- You quit the job that was toxic or just wasn’t serving you anymore
- You started that business you have always been talking about
- You began that content creation journey
- You started the journey of financial literacy, whether it was reading a book, signing up for a masterclass or workshop
- You managed to partially or fully pay off your debts
- You managed to put something towards your savings account, no matter how small you think it is
- You finally bought that one thing you have always wanted, whether it be a car, house, holiday, phone upgrade, or just the original brand of something
- You were able to comfortably offer financial support towards a cause like paying medical needs, supporting a shelter, helping out a family member, or even just giving it as a treat, regardless of the amount
- You had an honest conversation with a friend or family member that led you to finally draw boundaries
- You were present/there for those who matter to you
- You didn’t overthink posting that one picture on your feed
- You led a more active lifestyle
- You publicly stood for something, e.g., made it clear you were against police brutality, against femicide, against the genocides happening around the world
- You said NO
- You finished reading a book
- You decided to get sober
- You said YES
- You started seeing a therapist
- You quit a bad habit you had
- You learnt a new skill
- You tried something for the first time, like a new cuisine, etc
- You finally moved on
- You graduated
- You moved out
- You got a promotion at work
- You maintained a long-distance friendship or relationship
- You went back to school
- You passed all your courses
- You kept a clean space
- You learnt a new language
- You went on your first solo trip
- You went on a trip
- You asked for help
- You were an active citizen, e.g., by registering as a voter
- You finished even one thing you started
- You advocated for yourself e.g nogotiated for a pay rise
- You kept a promise you made to yourself
- You mended a relationship
- You admitted you were wrong and apologised genuinely
- You made a new friend or two
- You donated blood
- You let go of comparison
- You kept a plant alive
- You practised gratitude
- You poured into yourself / prioritised your needs too
- You stopped being performative and lived more authentically
- You took accountability for your actions
The list isn’t exhaustive, so I encourage you to come up with your own list. Is there anything you think I missed? Is there any point that resonated? Let me know in the comments.
Come back tomorrow for Day 5!

Thank you, Ventura. I managed to tick off several things that I am proud of, one of them being finishing my graduate course. It was such a difficult journey.
